The ProWay ‘bulk handler’ has won runner up in the 2011 Henty Machine of the year Award

One of the highlights of Henty Machinery Field Days is the presentation of the coveted Henty Machine of the Year Award, which recognises innovation and excellence in farm machinery.

This “farmer’s choice” award is presented to the most outstanding new piece of agricultural machinery exhibited at the field days and is judged by an independent panel of regional primary producers. In many cases, the winning machine goes on to become standard equipment on farms throughout Australia.

Judging criteria include the machine’s purpose and suitability; scope of application; construction (durability, appearance and design); ease of maintenance and service; ease of operation (including operator comfort and safety); ease of adjustment; availability of parts; and overall value-for-money.

The bulk handler was well received by the judges for its practicality and value to the sheep industry.

Being awarded runner-up in such a prestigious award is a very high profile recognition received by ProWay. The competition is not a farmer’s invention award, but is aimed at commercial machinery manufacturers. The bulk handler was up against international farm machinery companies which operate throughout the world.
